Halifax and East Coast by Train
The East Coast of Canada is possesses some of the most impressive rural landscapes, rugged ocean shores and natural beauty in all of Canada. Halifax is an exciting city with a rich historical and military significance and is an important destination for student groups to see. The area, best accessible by train from most Eastern North American cities, provides students a new perspective on this region.

Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Quebec via Montreal
Arrive at your local train station and depart for Montreal on Via Rail or Amtrak. Students can purchase Lunch or bring a lunch from home. Arrive in Montreal. Students will have time to stretch their legs before they board their train to Quebec City. Depart Montreal to Quebec City on Via Rail. Arrive in Quebec! Ghost Tour – Students will enjoy a lantern lit tour through the darker side of Quebec History. A popular and highly rated choice amongst school groups. Check into to your Hotel in Quebec City.

Day 2: Quebec City
Depart for the Plains of Abraham Battlefield Workshop. The site of many clashes for supremacy between the French and British Empires, the Plains of Abraham were the scene of the final battle in the 1759 conquest of New France by Britain. Students will participate in an exciting and interactive re-enactment. Lunch. Tour of Chateau Frontenac: Group Picture Behind the Chateau Frontenac. Enjoy a Guided Walking Tour Quebec City. Dinner at a local Quebec City restaurant. Depart Quebec for Halifax. You will cover hundreds of kilometres while sleeping soundly and you'll wake up in a completely different part of Canada! There will be a food take-out counter, videos. and a panoramic dome.

Day 3: En Route To Halifax
Breakfast will be served to students by Via Rail. Activities conducted by your Evolve Tour Director. Lunch on their own while on the train Arrive in Halifax! Arrive and check into the Halifax Hotel. The group will have time to freshen up and to relax before Dinner. The group will depart for our Group Dinner. The Group will enjoy an evening at an IMAX cinema presentation.

Day 4: Full of activities in Halifax
Guided city sightseeing tour aboard our coach bus, some of stops include: Halifax Citadel Historic Site, Nova Scotia Legislature, the Halifax Harbour. We will also walk through Point Pleasant Park. Point Pleasant Park has many trails that can lead us on a trip through the woods and to the beach or around the woods and to the beach. Lunch on their own at Halifax Shopping Centre Food Court. Depart for a tour to Peggy’s Cove. Peggy’s Cove has been declared a preservation area to protect its rugged beauty. The group will depart for our Dinner Theatre Presentation designed for student groups.

Day 5: Halifax to Cape Breton
Depart for Cape Breton, NS. En route to Cape Breton the bus will make scheduled stops for Lunch and breaks.Visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site and learn more about one of the world's greatest inventors. Uisege Ban Falls. The walk is a light hike for students and is one of the highlights of the trip. Arrive and check into Hotel in Sydney Nova Scotia. The group will depart for our Group Dinner at a local restaurant. At night, your groups will visit Celtic Ceilidh, fiddle, piano, and step-dancing at the Town Hall. Return to the Hotel.

Day 6: Cape Breton
Arrive at Fort Louisbourg National Historic Site. Enjoy a leisurely visit to this impressive Fort, the crown jewel of the Canadian Park Service. Lunch. Drive a portion of the Cabot Trail. The Students will have an opportunity to get off the bus and see some of the most majestic views in all of Canada. Whale Watching Cruise, The rich waters around Cape Breton are the seasonal home to many species of whales. The group will depart for our Group Dinner. Students will enjoy an evening at a Local Pool.

Day 7: Cape to Moncton to Montreal
Arrive at Moncton Train Station Depart Moncton for Montreal on Via Rail Canada Overnight Train to Montreal. Sitting in your comfortable seat, students and teachers will sleep or admire the scenery rolling by the window as they play cards or talk. As well, the train will have a Skyline car, where there will be a food take-out counter and which includes a panoramic dome offering a superb 360-degree view of the steep hills and charming Maritime villages. Dinner and Breakfast will be served En Route.

Day 8: Montreal to Home
Arrive in Montreal. Breakfast will be purchased for students at a Restaurant at the Montreal Train Station or on the Train. Depart Montreal for Toronto on Via Rail Canada. Students can purchase Lunch En Route. Arrive in Toronto.
